To Make Her Happy

My daughter has a pair of favorite trousers. I bought her trousers in this style when she was 2 years old. She wore them until she was 4, when I found a “new” pair for her at a tag sale in the identical style, in a size 8. I hemmed them and pulled in the waist. She is still wearing them (5 years later), and they are a hot mess. Unfortunately, the trousers have been discontinued and the tag sales that I have attended have not yielded another pair. I thought it was a little risky, but I figured I would try to copy them for her. Risky because I tend to get kind of upset if my kids don’t like stuff I make for them. Fortunately, she likes her new trousers, so I will continue to make this style for her. She even posed for me! So here they are. There will probably be more.

It seems like I have had a lot of sewing output lately. Currently, I am only working on easy projects because my brain is fried from having my kids around all the time. On the upside, I have lots of new clothes to show for my time in the sewing room!

Those look very similar to yoga pants – super comfy! I get why she likes them so much. Glad she gave her seal of approval. πŸ˜‰

Brain fry! Yes, I find the same problem during the summer. I’m constantly distracted and don’t seem to get very much done in the sewing room. BTW, you are not the only mean mom making kids exercise their brains over the summer break. πŸ˜‰

I’m glad it’s not just me. I’m currently getting back to a meaty project that I started ages ago, but I’m having trouble motivating.

I’m having so much trouble getting them to do school work that I’ve decided that next summer I’ll enroll them in our district’s summer school program.

hehe… they’ll probably hate you, and you’ll get lots of sewing done! It’s a brilliant idea! πŸ˜‰

The pants look great. I had one dd who never liked home made, no matter how close to the original, respected rtw item, and yes, it is upsetting when you put in the work.

Easy is good! I’ve been enjoying your creative output this summer. Bright side school starts soon and you will have time to immerse yourself once again!
