And One for Me

So that thought about wearing a cool mask while handing out candy on Halloween really took hold in my imagination, and I made one for me. The colors are a little different: blue with the orange rather than purple. I took some photos of my process this time, as well.

Here’s the base

The knit fabrics that I used. I started with white rayon/lycra, then dyed it with my go-to dyes, Procion dyes from Dharma Trading. The blue is Wedgewood blue, I forget what the pink/orange is.

This is 2 layers of fabric held together with fusible web. I cut the strips to the length that I want the petals to be, 1 3/4″.

Cut the petals

Wind up with a big pile.

Sew around the edges and attach them together before attaching to mask.

This is just so stinkin’ kewl! So will you wear all black to go with the mask? And are you prepared for the foul weather that’s coming?! Last year it was snow for Halloween and this year it’s a freakin’ hurricane!
