To Make For Spring: Full-Skirted Grey Dress

One look from the spring 2013 collections that has captured my imagination is the full-skirted grey dress. I love the feeling of lots of fabric swirling around my legs as I walk. And I have some neon green 4-ply silk and some grey dye to configure the inputs for this dress!

They look like dresses that would go well in your wardrobe. These are all very clear grays. How do you think that your green will over dye?

That’s part of the thrill of dyeing. I’ll let you know.

I love the feeling of lots of fabric swishing, too. If I could wear a ball skirt every day of my life, I would!

I love the Donna Karan dress!
I admire that you would dye fabric in stash! I’m still climbing the hurdle of pattern adjustments and muslins. I’m too impatient at this stage to add fabric dying before I cut and sew!

(Love the black tie wedding dress! Thanks for sharing the process.)

I buy almost all of my fabric as remnants. Since I’m not picky about color, I can get great quality fabric at very good prices, and worry about color later. I do tend to go for lighter colors when possible, so I have more choices when it comes time to dye.
