I made these shorts a while ago, but I don’t think I ever blogged about them. The inspiration came from a photo I saw online of a model wearing striped shorts and a heavy cardigan. I fell for the look, and even had some reasonably similar fabric lying about. I also made a dress with this fabric. The pattern is a trouser pattern from Burdastyle 3/2010. There’s not much to say about them, really, but I love the shorts-and-sweater look for early spring.
I’m wearing them with Doc Marten boots and an ancient J Crew sweater. I bought the sweater in the J Crew at the mall in the World Trade Center, which will give you some idea of how old it is. I bought the socks yesterday at Muji. They’re really nice wool and they were half price. I’m also wearing a shibori dyed T shirt that did not come out exactly as I expected and a scarf that my husband bought me on a business trip to Singapore. Whew.

You are almost making me think that shorts are possible. These are utterly fab (unsurprisingly!).
