It’s chilly here at this time of year, and I spend a lot of time outside. I’m one of those moms who drags my kids to the playground when there’s frost on the ground. As I sat at the playground a couple of weeks ago, it occurred to me that perhaps it would be nice to have a warmer pair of trousers to wear there.
These are made with some nice heavy cotton twill from a Michael’s bundle, lined with china silk in the front and stretch charmeuse in the back. I mistakenly bought this stretch charmeuse a couple of years ago. It’s been sitting in my stash ever since. I HATE stretch fabrics, but they are useful for some limited applications, like lining the back of trousers where you might need some give.
I used bwof 6/07, #104 for the pattern. The waist is higher than I expected, but I think I can get used to it. I thought about belt carriers, and I may still add them.
I realize I have not posted in a while, and you were probably thinking I’d be working on something amazing that’s taking all this time, but, alas, no. The holidays have been busy, and we were away skiing for a week. I do, however, have some photos of myself wearing my new dresses while on holiday. They can be found on my other blog . You’ll have to scroll down a bit to get to the photos of me.
